Trump’s Visit to China – Trade Fears
 

President Trump’s Asia tour raised some concerns about priorities for intellectual property rights in the region. One analysis, claiming U.S. businesses were a “loser” from the trip, asked “what had happened to Trump’s frequent claims that he would be tough on China, on . . . intellectual property” (MORE). Another noted, “while the president railed against what he viewed as systemic flaws in the U.S. trading relationship with its Asian partners, he neither publicly requested nor received specific assurances to address issues like market access and intellectual property theft” (MORE).
