Liable 

Liability may still be an issue Congress is grappling with but in a ruling by a U.S. District Court, liability was found in a case by a gun accessories company (settlement not disclosed) and from the previous ruling inspections into Amazon’s warehouses by brand owners allowed.

Amazon took action against two influencers promoting counterfeit products on the online platform.

Metaverse–brands enter the virtual space
 

Learning is an ever-evolving process because the world is ever-evolving and now developing into spheres. The necessity to evolution with the evolve of the marketplace affects the practice of brand protection. One of the most interesting developments recently is the popularity of the “metaverse.” Once you wrap your head around what that is, then figuring out what it means for brands and brand protection are the next chapters in the education of the subject.

This particular month has a new significance for us after 2020. Two years later, we are still dealing with counterfeit masks but new renewed efforts for protections are being advocated.

World IP Day: April 26, 2022

Intellectual Property or IP, works its way into conversations beyond those of IP professionals. In this year’s highlight for World IP Day, The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) will shine the spotlight on “IP and Youth innovating for a Better Future.” We always say “start young” for the development of certain attributes, skills, and characteristics. IP and innovation certainly fit that credo.

In appreciation of this day, A-CAPP will be co-sponsoring a number of events and activities.
